96.1 WSOX CONTEST RULES

NOTE: These rules may be superceded by policies specific to the contest you are entering. Please check those rules or contact 96.1 WSOX for further information.

1.      96.1 WSOX contests are open to anyone 18 years of age or older that reside in the station’s Total Survey Area (TSA) (unless otherwise stated); except 96.1 WSOX employees, members of employees' immediate families, advertising agencies, contest sponsors, and employees of other radio and TV stations (and their families). Other restrictions may apply. Immediate family includes: Spouses, Parents, Grandparents, Siblings, Children, Step- children and Grandchildren.

2.      Participants may win only one (1) contest per household in a thirty (30) day period. Any prize won more than once in a thirty day period is forfeited by winner. There are no exceptions.  

  1. 96.1 WSOX is not responsible for entries or prizes lost or damaged by the mail. Equipment malfunctions of email are also not the responsibility of 96.1 WSOX. CAUTION:  ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.  Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the contest if it becomes technically corrupted.

4.      Listener must provide 96.1 WSOX with their name, address, phone number, social security number for the INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE, and must sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability release in order to claim any prize.

6.      Prizes are non-transferable. No substitute or exchange of the prize is permitted. If a winner wins tickets to a production that is subsequently cancelled due to forces beyond 96.1 WSOX’s control, 96.1 WSOX is not liable or responsible for substituting another prize in lieu of the original prize. If necessary, the winner must agree to meet personnel of 96.1 WSOX at a sponsor location for certain prize pick-ups.

7.      If requested, winners must bring a valid photo ID to the 96.1 WSOX offices between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, (unless otherwise noted) if prizes are to be picked up in person. 96.1 WSOX’s address:

8.      No purchase necessary to enter or to win.

9.      Federal, state or other taxes imposed on the winner, as a result of winning the prize, or imposed on the prize itself, are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.

  1. Contests are subject to all applicable laws and regulations and are void where prohibited. 

  2. By entering, winner grants permission to 96.1 WSOX to publicize and/or broadcast his or her name, voice, and/or likeness in relation to the contest or any promotion relating to the contest. Winner waives any claim of royalty, right or remuneration for such use.

12. By entering, participants represent that they are eligible to enter and agree (a) to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges; and (b) to release 96.1 WSOX and the parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents of each of them from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or from the participation in the contest. 

13. 96.1 WSOX reserves sole and final judgment as to all matters concerning the contest and interpretation of contest rules.

14. Written copies of the rules may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to 96.1 WSOX at the address above, or by picking up a copy at the 96.1 WSOX studios Monday through Friday, 8am until 5pm.

15. Odds of winning are dependant on total number of callers/entries during each prize.
